Spring Cleaning = Book Sale!

Well it’s that time of year… cleaning must be done.

Since I’m in the process of moving in with my fiance (oh yeah, I’m engaged now), it’s about time I quit hoarding so many books. Sad, but it was going to happen eventually.

I used to take all my books to a local used bookstore here in town, but they’ve finally been forced to close. Very sad times for me.

So instead, I’m seeing if eBay will agree with me for once.

I thought you all might like to know some of the books and such I’m selling. There are other things for sale to, like movies and stuff.

Most of the books are mine, but a few romance books are my mom’s and crime/thriller books are my dad’s. So if you want to know how all of them are…. I can’t really tell you lol.

Autumn Updates

Long time no see everyone! I swear I'm going to start getting better w/ this.

Lots has been going on for me over the past few months. So I'll try to hit the high points.

First,

My Etsy shop is finally staying a bit more active, though I could still use a little more love there! So please visit the NRSVampChick Designs Etsy shop!

Second, I have several shows this fall.

Had one yesterday for

Emily's Power For A Cure. All proceeds went to the foundation. It was a small show, but great people to be involved with!

I’m really excited about my show in 2 weeks (October 22nd)! I’ll be in Lexington, KY for A Day of Mystical Bloodlust! Workshops, authors, vendors & a Halloween Ball! How can that be bad! I hope to see some of you there! Find out more at http://adayofmysticalbloodlust.webs.com/

November 2nd I’ll be at Middle Tennessee State University for a small craft fair put together by some Middle Tennessee Etsy friends!

November 12th will find me at the 8th Annual Grace Lutheran Craft Fair! Last year’s show was my very first craft fair, so I’m looking forward to doing this one again! It’s here in Clarksville, TN.

Third, I’m extremely excited about this. It’s taken a lot of work!

Myself, along w/ 6 other Clarksville-area crafters, have put together a craft show of our own!

The Christmas Craft Bazaar on November 5th!

We will have crafters, retailers, food, door prizes & raffle drawings!

The door prizes you have to be present to win, and they will be given out all day.

April Updates

As I’m sure you’ve noticed I’ve been slacking lately. This weekend all of the regularly scheduled posts will be back.

Ok, Not-Really-Southern Vamp Chick is back!

For real this time. Lol!

Sorry for the lack of blog posts over the last few weeks. I haven’t forgotten about you though. I’ve been planning things for you don’t worry. That’s why this week, we are getting back to our normal routine and having a few special guests and giveaways!

First off, I’m very sorry I’ve been so inactive. I let my jewelry overtake everything else for a bit, but I think I have things a bit more balanced now. What I was working on was… wait for it… I now have some of my NRSVampChick Designs jewelry in a local store! (Granted this doesn’t do anything for you, since I don’t know any of you that live here, but it’s a huge building block for me.) I’ll let you know when I have pictures and such up on the jewelry blog (It’s even more behind than this one). I’m so excited about this! I can’t even tell you how thrilled I am! I don’t know how it will go, but I’m always up for a new challenge, so we shall see. :D

Anyways, back to this. The regularly scheduled posts will be returning today (In My Mailbox, Win on Wednesday, Shop on Saturday), plus some new ones soon. I’ve already scheduled some of them this time, so they will actually get done, I’m not just saying it. LOL!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everybody! I know I’ve been M.I.A. over the last few weeks, but I’ll be getting back on track again.

I hope everyone has had happy holidays. I did, though I’ve stayed pretty busy.

Now the new year is finally here and with it will come a few new things on Not-Really-Southern Vamp Chick.

One thing I’d like to do is to start featuring some other bloggers. My Win on Wednesday post seems to help you all find a few new blogs, but I’d like to show some love to the new bloggers out there, or the older bloggers out there that haven’t gotten as much exposure as they would like to. I’ve seen some really cool blogs over the past year, but sometimes forget to follow and lose track of them, so if you are interested in being one of these blogs, then please sign-up HERE! I just ask that you be mostly book related and that the majority of your books be urban fantasy, paranormal romance, horror, etc. Whether they are young adult or adult does not matter to me though.

Another thing I’m going to start is featuring local haunted places, hopefully around the world. For this, I need your help. Do you have a place near you that you think would be perfect for this? Last thing for today. As is I’m sure obvious to everyone. I needed a break, because I was doing a bit too much for a while there. So what I want to do is to start getting more guest reviewers on here. I usually have some for events and such, but that’s it. I love working with other bloggers though, and think this would be a great way to get to work more w/ them and keep the blog active for you all without overworking myself quite so much. Updates and why I’ve been MIA

Sorry I’ve been MIA the past week. I started a new hobby. It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of most crafts, jewelry especially. Well I decided I would fix and reuse some old and broken jewelry I had lying around. I had so much fun, that I went out and bought a few more supplies.

Now I am in full blown craft mode, but don’t worry, my blog is still my baby. I just got a bit side tracked. Lol.

Anyways, I will resume with my normal weekly posts starting with today’s contest listing later on today. 400 Followers! And a Question?

WOO HOO! I’VE REACHED 400 FOLLOWERS! I sure never thought this would have happened when I started this blog back in December. It seems like forever ago most of the time though. I can’t imagine what I would do without my blog, my faithful readers, and my blogger friends. You all ROCK!

So, now I would like you to help me out. How many of you like to read horror? Do you like that in your urban fantasy and with a paranormal element, or do you like horror more with a human element to it? Who are your favorite horror authors, books, series, etc. I know people have different ideas of what fits into the horror category, so what do you consider horror? Let me know in the comments.

I Fell Down…

Ok, so today was supposed to be a post filled day. Friday Finds, Kristin Stefanos phone interview and Lost Devil’s Throne book review, and winners announced for my Giveaway-A-Day Countdown to My Birthday Bash! There was however a problem last night when I was working on all of this… I fell down the stairs… AGAIN!

See, every now and then my ankle likes to somewhat give out and it just kind of rolls. If I had a normal set of stairs this might not be a big problem, but my stairs are narrow and steep. So, when I try to avoid spraining my ankle when It gives out on me (b/c that’s happened a bunch of times) the result is me falling down the stairs. Well, half the stairs.

For once I took care of myself and got ice and laid down right away, but the damage was a bit done already. One of my wrists and knees got twisted a bit, and my upper thigh and butt has a fist sized bruise with carpet burn on top of it b/c I was wearing a night gown as I went sliding down the stairs. LOL Do you all have a funny picture in your head now?

The result is me not really being able to sit here and work at the computer for very long for at least today, and maybe a bit longer, I’ll have to see. I’ll try to get a bit done here and there. Hopefully I’ll at least be able to announce my contest winners tomorrow. But hey, at least I can walk this time! <3
