Help Wanted!

I meant to put this up earlier, but I need a little help around here. I’m staying very busy & with nice weather on the way, lots of craft shows are coming up, so I’ll have even less time soon. I could really use another person helping me with reviews. You’ll notice there haven’t been many lately, because I’m running behind.

I love running the blog and all that, it’s mainly just the reviews I need the help with at this time. If you are interested in possibly being a reviewer at Not-Really-Southern Vamp Chick just shoot me an email. It would be great if you could include a review, but if you would like to ask me any questions feel free.

My email is notreallysouthernvampchick(at)gmail(dot)com

Please, I just ask that for those that are interested, that you think about the tone of my blog and make sure this is the type of blog you want to be a reviewer for. I mostly review urban fantasy and paranormal romance both young adult and adult, with other genres like horror, dystopian, steampunk, etc. thrown in here and there.

Until I find someone, and even after I do, I’d still love to have guest reviewers here more often. If you are interested in being a guest reviewer you can fill out this form HERE.

And Now Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Program

Ok, Not-Really-Southern Vamp Chick is back!

For real this time. Lol!

Sorry for the lack of blog posts over the last few weeks. I haven’t forgotten about you though. I’ve been planning things for you don’t worry. That’s why this week, we are getting back to our normal routine and having a few special guests and giveaways!

First off, I’m very sorry I’ve been so inactive. I let my jewelry overtake everything else for a bit, but I think I have things a bit more balanced now. What I was working on was… wait for it… I now have some of my NRSVampChick Designs jewelry in a local store! (Granted this doesn’t do anything for you, since I don’t know any of you that live here, but it’s a huge building block for me.) I’ll let you know when I have pictures and such up on the jewelry blog (It’s even more behind than this one). I’m so excited about this! I can’t even tell you how thrilled I am! I don’t know how it will go, but I’m always up for a new challenge, so we shall see. :D

Anyways, back to this. The regularly scheduled posts will be returning today (In My Mailbox, Win on Wednesday, Shop on Saturday), plus some new ones soon. I’ve already scheduled some of them this time, so they will actually get done, I’m not just saying it. LOL!

Also, coming up this week… Not-Really-Southern Vamp Chick will be host to:

The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa Book Review + Giveaway thanks to Big Honcho Media

Crystal Connor’s The Darkness Blog Tour from Books And…

possibly more ;)

Hope you all enjoy!

Oh, don’t forget, I’m still looking for people to sign up to participate in a few things. If you already signed up & haven’t heard from me, don’t worry you will soon. If you want to sign up for something, please do. Go here and read more for signing up as a guest reviewer, new blogger/small blogger spotlight, or guest post on local haunted places. Do you have another idea on something to do? I’d love to hear it. Shoot me an email notreallysouthernvampchick(at)gmail(dot)com  ;D

Happy New Year!

Photobucket

Happy New Year everybody! I know I’ve been M.I.A. over the last few weeks, but I’ll be getting back on track again.

I hope everyone has had happy holidays. I did, though I’ve stayed pretty busy.

Now the new year is finally here and with it will come a few new things on Not-Really-Southern Vamp Chick.

One thing I’d like to do is to start featuring some other bloggers. My Win on Wednesday post seems to help you all find a few new blogs, but I’d like to show some love to the new bloggers out there, or the older bloggers out there that haven’t gotten as much exposure as they would like to. I’ve seen some really cool blogs over the past year, but sometimes forget to follow and lose track of them, so if you are interested in being one of these blogs, then please sign-up HERE! I just ask that you be mostly book related and that the majority of your books be urban fantasy, paranormal romance, horror, etc. Whether they are young adult or adult does not matter to me though.

Another thing I’m going to start is featuring local haunted places, hopefully around the world. For this, I need your help. Do you have a place near you that you think would be perfect for this? Would you like to share it with us in your very own post on here? Then please go HERE and fill out the form.

Last thing for today. As is I’m sure obvious to everyone. I needed a break, because I was doing a bit too much for a while there. So what I want to do is to start getting more guest reviewers on here. I usually have some for events and such, but that’s it. I love working with other bloggers though, and think this would be a great way to get to work more w/ them and keep the blog active for you all without overworking myself quite so much. If you are interested in writing a guest review, please fill out this form.

Acceptance for each will depend upon how many people want to participate. I hope I have some interest in all of them. This could be so much fun. If you all have more ideas feel free to let me know or shoot me an email! :)

Once again, Happy New Year!

Updates and why I’ve been MIA

Sorry I’ve been MIA the past week. I started a new hobby. It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of most crafts, jewelry especially. Well I decided I would fix and reuse some old and broken jewelry I had lying around. I had so much fun, that I went out and bought a few more supplies.

Now I am in full blown craft mode, but don’t worry, my blog is still my baby. I just got a bit side tracked. Lol.

Anyways, I will resume with my normal weekly posts starting with today’s contest listing later on today. If you have any contests you want to make sure get added, please fill out the information HERE. I’m behind on reading blogs, so I might have missed some contests this week if you haven’t told me about it.

I’ll let you all know when my jewelry is up online. :)

I’m BBA’s next host!

image

Guess what! I just got some fabulous news! Have you all been over to Paranormal Haven yet this month for their Adrian Phoenix Month? Well you should, especially because part of it is because of BBA, Book Bloggers Anonymous. It’s a book club that was started by Steph @ Paper Cut Reviews, and I’m also a member. Currently we are discussing A Rush of Wings by Adrian Phoenix for our June book.

What our July book will be is up to you! I’m going to be the next host for BBA so you all will be voting among our top three choices! So please vote in the top left corner!

And if you want to be really kind to me, you can vote for Mind Games, because I’ve read the other two, but vote where you will!

These are the other blogs involved in BBA:

If you have any questions feel free to ask. You can reach Steph at papercutreviewer@gmail.com

Oh and don’t forget to support the current host Paranormal Haven and their month long event!

Adrian Phoenix Month

I figure this is also a good time to mention another group I am a part of, and it is also a baby of Steph @ Paper Cut Reviews.

The Travelling Book Gnome is a book tour started by Steph to help us connect with our fellow bloggers, have a chance to read a book we might not have otherwise read, and give away a great keepsake to a lucky follower! To start it  off, the book that was chosen was They Call Me Death by Missy Jane, and it’s winding up it’s journey. Soon (next week) you will get to see the travels that Cedric/Fin (the gnome) and the book have undergone and read our reviews. As a special bonus Missy Jane is doing a blog tour and will be stopping by each of our blogs!!

The other blogs involved are:

Natasha ~ A Great Book Is The Cheapest Vacation will be joining us starting the July-August tour.

Updates, News, and Contest Extra Entries!

I'm in the process of making some changes around here. Nothing too major, just some good additions that I've needed for awhile, and a few things that are winning in the poll. Some new things will be popping up in the sidebars, and a rating system will be taking effect shortly. How do you all feel about coffins? :) Once I get my new system in place, you'll start seeing all the reviews that I've been needing to put up for a while now.

I'm also going to be updating my blogroll and buttons. If you want to be included in either, preferably an exchange, let me know.

Don't forget I have my Win on Wednesday post every week where I list the contests that I've heard about. If I've missed yours, I'm sorry. Feel free to leave a link in the comments or email me or tweet me the link so I can put it on next week's post.

Just to give you a heads up, I'm going to host an event in May that I hope you'll love, so keep your eyes open for that! I sure can't wait!! More details soon! *bounces up and down*

My 113 Follower Giveaway is still going on! Win books by Mari Mancusi, MaryJanice Davidson, Mark Henry & swag! Earn +2 entries for commenting on this post. At 175 followers I'll add another prize to choose from, and at 200 followers I'll another prize and winner. :D

Opinions on Contest: Pretty Please!

Alrighty, when I reach 113 followers, assuming that happens anytime in the near future, I'm planning on having a contest for my wonderful followers. Now just how big that contest is going to be, that's what I'm trying to decide. I also wanted to let you know that I'm planning on having another one in May for my birthday. So, my follower contest can by smaller and I can save up to have a huge contest in May, or I can have a medium one now and a medium one in May. Both will contain books and swag, but how much is up to you all. Opinions? Questions? Let me know what you think.

I Reached 100 Followers!

Thank you all so much for following me. I have a horrible migraine today, but got on here just to check and see how things were going and got a lovely surprise! I've had several new followers join since yesterday. Thank you all so much and thanks to those of you who have been here for the last few months! Now on to the good news for you. Since my favorite number is 13, the magic number for my followers is going to be 113. Anyone want to guess what happens then?
