To start things off we thought we’d start w/ a debate. Vayl vs. Cole. With Cole you have the cutie, blonde, joking, gum-chewing, best friend. Then with Vayl, you get the gorgeous, dark haired, centuries old vampire, with a unique sense of humor, and an always unfolding past.
Personally, for Jaz, I have to pick Vayl. Here’s a quote that might show you why he’s just so darn yummy. *Sigh*

The two get along perfectly together. They just fit. Now for me, I would probably be happier w/ Cole, maybe. Ah I can’t ever make up my mind! Lol!

I have to agree, to choose between Vayl and Cole is hard. But I'd go for the vamp. It's not that I'm deterred by all sweet, cute little *cough, cough* human guys because of all these vampy books, I just can't help wanting Vayl more (call it a fetish :-P - just kidding).

Vayl because while I love Cole he just doesn't get Jaz. Vayl does plain and simple. I love your quote -- that is one of my favorite moments -- right after that I believe he broke a bit off of a marble counter top!

I haven't read this series yet so don't know the characters very well yet so this is a shot in the dark then... I think I will go for Vayl... only because I have a penchance for the dark and brooding type :)

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't read these books yet. The first 5 of the series have been sitting on my bookshelf patiently waiting. However based on what I've heard I think I would prefer Cole.

Though I don't "know" them first hand since I haven't read this series, I got a sense of their characters and personalities and based on that I would go with Vayl. I prefer my heroes to be mature, intense and radiating that calm yet powerful intensity. Will let you know if my choice stands once I've read about them, but Cole sounds like another fantastic character! :-)
